On most days we can manage the difficulties of life with a certain measure of logic. But when we get that proverbial 'curve ball', we can lose all sight of good counsel for ourselves.
Recently we have been privileged to hear a great message on 'do not worry'. And of course, when you get a confirming word for your life the enemy hits all the harder. In some instances, we also can find it hard to love because we can't find our way out of our own worry! When we are self absorbed with what isn't ours to be absorbed with, we can miss the opportunity to walk in the balance of this life in Christ. Loving others comes in all different applications.
“Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them.” Matthew 22:37-39 MSG
I sometimes can be missing a 'peg' in this journey. How about you? Do you get down on yourself when worrying? Do you forgive yourself last, when troubles rise? Do you feel unbalanced when you have found yourself off the path beneath your feet, unsteady even? Do you rehearse the negative and then pray the positive?
Passion, Prayer, Wisdom, and Self Love..... 4 pegs of balance.... each fueled with the Love of Christ....
